Privacy Policy

We may collect account details such as your name, email address, and profile information when you sign in. When you record or watch a cloud video, the app may process camera, microphone, screen recording, file name, duration, size, creation time, private Watch Later status, viewing time, completion status, and last playback position. Public activity may include comment text, video timestamps, reactions, display names, profile photos, moderation history, and a generated guest alias.

Aks requests access to the camera, microphone, and, where supported, screen capture only when those permissions are required for a recording flow initiated by you.

We use collected information to:

• authenticate and manage user accounts,
• record, save, preview, download, and share videos,
• maintain private Watch Later and Recent lists and resume eligible playback,
• provide public comments, replies, reactions, and moderation,
• improve app stability, quality, and performance,
• provide support and respond to user issues.

Recordings may remain locally on your device or in browser storage. When you upload a recording, its video media is sent directly to Mux for storage, processing, adaptive playback, thumbnails, storyboards, and downloads. AKS stores ownership, workspace, share, processing, comments, and reaction metadata in Firestore. Firebase Storage is not used for video media. A video is shared through an unlisted link only when you explicitly create or use a share action.

People opening a public share link may comment or react without signing in. AKS assigns each guest a session-stable alias such as “Guest 4821” and stores only a derived identifier, not the raw browser-session secret. Signed-in activity is associated with the user account and may show the account display name and profile photo. Video creators and workspace moderators may hide, restore, or delete comments.

AKS uses Firebase Authentication and Firestore for account access and application metadata, and Mux for uploaded video media and playback. These providers may process data under their respective terms and privacy documentation.

Locally stored recordings remain available until you delete them or remove the app data. Recent is private to your account, expires after 180 days, and is limited to the newest 500 cloud videos. Watch Later is private to your account and remains until you remove it or delete your account. Comments and reactions remain attached to the uploaded video when a share link is revoked or replaced. Deleting an uploaded video starts a server-side workflow that disables its share links and removes its media, activity, and private-list references. Deleted comments may retain a content-free thread placeholder while replies exist; empty placeholders are scheduled for removal. Account deletion removes private lists, anonymizes comments in other workspaces as “Deleted user,” and removes reactions. Minimal operational deletion records may be retained temporarily for reliable retries, security, and audit purposes.

We use reasonable technical measures and platform services to help protect data, but no method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be fully secure.

You can control permissions through your device or browser settings, add or remove Watch Later items, remove viewed Watch Later items, remove individual Recent entries, and clear Recent. Comment authors can edit or delete their comments while their account or guest browser session remains available. You may also sign out, delete recordings, delete your account, and stop using the service at any time.
